The Delek Children’s Foundation is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged students across the Himalayan region. Since its establishment in 2010, the Foundation has been providing educational opportunities to students from India and Nepal. You have the power to transform a child’s life by sponsoring them for one, four, or eight years. Your contribution will cover crucial aspects such as school fees, meals, clothing, study materials, and essential medical care.

Furthermore, the Foundation extends its support to young adults who opt for skill development over traditional college education. Through various programs, including computer programming, hotel management, carpentry, and arts, we empower these individuals with valuable skills necessary for self-sufficiency. Scholarships

The Delek Children’s Foundation Scholarship is open to all underprivileged Himalayan students in the Himalayan region. Since 2010, the Foundation has sponsored 26 students in India and Nepal who are currently enrolled in schools and colleges. Sponsorship is a way of providing basic needs and education to an underprivileged child or young person through the Delek Children’s Foundation. You can sponsor a boarding or day student directly by paying set fees annually. As a sponsor, you can choose to be in contact with the child you sponsor or remain anonymous. The sponsorship provides school fees, food, clothing, study materials, and basic medical care to enable a student to attend school or college.

Day School Sponsorship

A day school sponsorship for one child costs $365.00 per year.

High School Scholarship

A high school scholarship for one student costs $500 per year. Unfortunately, free high school education is not provided for these children. Each student requires help for four years to graduate and be prepared for college. You may sponsor a child for one year, four years, or even eight years, depending on their program and your ability to provide funding.

College Scholarship

College scholarships cost $900 a year, and each student requires help for four years. This includes hostel fees, tuition fees, books, travel expenses, and a school uniform to successfully attend and graduate from college. Most of our graduates go into the health professions. Many parents cannot afford to send their children to high school or college, so the children remain at home and search for manual labor jobs outside their villages when they are young teenagers.

Sponsor Underprivileged Children

Sponsorship is a way of providing basic needs and education for an underprivileged child or young person through the Delek Children’s Foundation. You may directly sponsor a boarding or day student, which means paying set fees on an annual basis. Donate to Our Scholarship Fund

Ven. Thupten Donyo started this Foundation on His Holiness Dalai Lama’s advice during the visit in San Francisco in 2007. That year Ven Donyo was able to organize series of talks by His Holiness Dalai Lama at Bill Graham Hall in San Francisco. During the visit, His Holiness advised him to help uplift the lives of the Himalayan children.
